Poland Surpasses El Salvador in Global Bitcoin ATM Numbers

After a four-month installation drive, Poland has surpassed El Salvador to become the world’s fifth-largest bitcoin ATM center, with 219 machines currently in operation.

Poland Jumps to 5th Spot in Global Bitcoin ATM Rankings

Poland has climbed to the fifth spot in the global bitcoin automated teller machine (ATM) network rankings after installing 10 new machines on January 27, bringing its total to 219 active ATMs. This achievement pushes El Salvador with 215 ATMs, down to sixth place, according to data from Coin ATM Radar.

Poland has seen rapid growth in its crypto ATM infrastructure, adding 24 new machines since October 2024. In January alone, the country deployed 12 new ATMs, and additional installations are expected before the end of the month.

Globally, the United States and Canada dominate the crypto ATM landscape, with thousands of active machines, followed by Spain and Australia. Notably, Australia has maintained steady growth for nearly three years, joining the 1,000+ bitcoin ATM club in April 2024.

El Salvador, once ranked third globally in October 2022 with 215 machines has stagnated in its ATM expansion despite its early embrace of bitcoin as a legal tender. This contrasts with other nations, which continue to expand their crypto ATM networks.

Currently, over 38,000 crypto ATMs are active across 65 countries, highlighting the ongoing growth and evolution of the crypto ecosystem.
